MentalTraining.OnYourWeb.net is a peer-to-peer coaching website that seeks to share knowledge and experiences on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). A Mentor need not be a person; it could be a good book, an inspiring audio tape or video, a collaborative website or anything that we can learn valuable skills from. At higher levels of awareness, even everyday phenomena and experiences can teach a person new perspectives and better attune to nature.
In the movie “The Matrix” trilogy, Morpheus is the mentor and good friend of Neo, The One (who will save The Matrix world). The film describes a future in which reality perceived by humans is actually The Matrix, a simulated reality created by sentient machines in order to keep the humans under control while the machines use the bioelectricity and thermal energy of their bodies as an energy source.
As this virtual reality environment is practically indistinguishable from reality, the majority of humans connected to The Matrix are unaware of its true nature. However, most of the central characters in the movie know that it is not real, and as a result can partially bend (and even break) the simulation's physical laws in order to perform superhuman feats within The Matrix.
Neo, together with Morpheus, Trinity and the crew of the hovercraft Nebuchadnezzar, are drawn into a rebellion against the machines. Meanwhile, Agent Smith, a rogue artificial intelligence entity, is spreading throughout The Matrix like a virus, becoming a threat to BOTH machines and humans.
Like in The Matrix, a person’s neural connections to the environment define what is REAL. Learning and effectively mastering one’s neurological systems can help a person to achieve specific and desired goals. This real-life technique is known as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is how to use the
language of the mind to consistently achieve our specific and desired outcomes. Specifically, NLP is:
Neuro
The nervous system (the mind), through which our experience is
processed via five senses:
Visual
Auditory
Kinesthetic
Olfactory
Gustatory
Linguistic
Language and other non-verbal communication systems through which
our neural representations are coded, ordered and given meaning. Includes:
Pictures
Sounds
Feelings
Tastes
Smells
Words (Self Talk)
Programming
The ability to discover and utilize the programs that we run (our communication to ourselves and others) in our neurological systems to achieve our specific and desired outcomes.
What Is NLP, Really?
We can also see NLP as:
An Attitude
Curiosity
Willingness to Experiment
A Methodology
Modeling
De-nominalization
Continual Experimentation
A Trail of Techniques
The Techniques That Are Taught as NLP
NLP originated in the 1970s when John Grinder and Richard Bandler studied people who excelled in their field, with the aim of modelling their work to learn how they worked and with the aim of passing the knowledge on to others. For this reason NLP has sometimes been called the 'study of excellence'.
Since then NLP has spread into a wide range of uses and has applications in sales, therapy, education, coaching, building rapport, hypnotherapy and more.
